Story time: After traveling with carry-on only in the summer of 2022 and trying to make carry-on luggage as much as possible, I finally purchased two Apple AirTags during the Black Friday 2022 sales. And I’m so glad I did! My regular carry-on luggage was too big to fit Lufthansa’s baggage requirements (and they check it!), so I had to check my luggage on my December 2022 trip to Vienna and the return trip from Prague (with a layover in Frankfurt). My luggage wasn’t put on the plane in Frankfurt and once I landed in Newark, NJ, I opened the app on my phone and sure enough, the AirTag for my backpack was in my hand, but the AirTag for my suitcase was still in Germany.(The screenshots are from Amazon reviews, but you get the point.) AirTags also helped me track the delivery of my suitcase with FedEx to my parents’ house, where they were vacationing, right after our European trip ended. I was able to find the suitcase on the highway, less than an hour’s drive from my parents’ house. Bottom line: If you travel a few times a year, I think AirTags are a very worthwhile investment. And I’m not alone in that opinion.
Promising reviews: “I purchased two of these AirTags for my trip to France and they are so great! First off, they were super easy to set up. No issues whatsoever and both took about 5 minutes. I put one in my purse and the other in my suitcase. On the way home, the airline lost my luggage. I checked the Find My Friends app which allows you to track your AirTags and saw that it had never left Charles de Gaulle airport. Being able to track your luggage through the app gave me peace of mind knowing that my luggage had traveled around the world and back. 10/10 recommended!” —Lindsay Kirby
