Linn County Public Health and Together! Healthy Linn are hosting two town hall meetings to hear from community members about their experiences and perspectives on the health of our community.
These public meetings are part of the Community Health Assessment process, which takes place every three years. All feedback gathered at the public meetings will be used to inform the health priorities of the 2025-2027 Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).
The dates and times of the municipal meetings are as follows:
- Thursday, July 11, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.:Community Room at Lester Buresh Community Wellness Center, 855 Palisades Rd. SW Mount Vernon, IA 52314
- Wednesday, July 17, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m..: Fairfax City Hall, 300 80th St. Court Fairfax, IA, 52228
In addition to the public meetings, residents can provide their input through two surveys. The Food Security Survey is designed to gather information on the current state of food security in Linn County, as well as identify needs and challenges to improve access to food resources. The Community Violence Survey is designed to gather residents’ opinions on the safety of our community, and their feedback will help develop violence prevention strategies to keep our community safe. Both surveys will close on July 31, 2024.
