Colleges in the Three Finger Lakes region have received millions of dollars in grants for various projects, the governor announced. Kathy Hochul announced last week.
Higher Education Capital Matching Grant Program grants fund the construction and renovation of new labs and research spaces, the purchase of new teaching technology and equipment, and other investments. Campuses receiving these grants must invest at least $3 of their own funds for every $1 of public funds they receive.
“The Higher Education Matching Grant Program (HECap) is a great example of a public-private partnership that works for all New Yorkers,” the senator said. Toby Ann Stavisky“The HECap program helps campuses across the state make critical investments in their infrastructure and facilities, enabling New York’s independent colleges and universities to remain competitive nationally and globally,” said D-Whitestone.

Rochester Institute of Technology
Project description: Renovation of electrical infrastructure
Amount granted: $1.5 million
Nazareth University
Project description: Smyth Building Renovation
Amount granted: $1.5 million
Keuka College
Project description: Purchase of educational technology equipment
Amount granted: $101,331.95
