The latest five-star women’s basketball recruit to commit to Virginia Tech was Elizabeth Kitley. Could first-year coach Megan Duffy be on track to land the next one?
On Friday, Davenport, Iowa, five-star Divine Bourrage narrowed his list of schools to six, with the Hokies the highest-ranked school ahead of his official visits this fall. The Hokies join the top six spots in his top six: South Carolina, Baylor, Illinois, Arizona and LSU.
According to 247Sports, she already has a few official visits scheduled for the fall. She has visits scheduled to Arizona on Sept. 7, California on Sept. 14, Virginia Tech on Sept. 21 and LSU on Oct. 12. California is a notable visit that is not part of the final six and it remains to be seen if she will keep that visit scheduled.
Duffy will have his work cut out for him recruiting Bourrage, as some powerhouse programs like South Carolina and LSU are also in the mix. Dawn Staley and Kim Mulkey typically have a lot of recruiting success, but Duffy had some recruiting success in the Midwest during his time at Marquette, which could come into play in Bourrage’s recruitment, who recently told 247Sports last month,
“I like Virginia Tech because every time I talk to their coaches, they always have an incredible energy, especially for a new team. I like them.”

Duffy has already assembled an impressive 2025 class with two stars already committed to it. North Carolina guard Katie Sears and Iowa’s Amani Jenkins are the Hokies’ new coach’s top two recruits and Bourrage, who is the No. 5 player in the class according to ESPN and No. 7 according to On3, would make it a huge class with a commitment to Blacksburg.
