As Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, prepares her new acquisition, many are confused as to what will come out of it. At first, we all thought it would be a variety of exclusive jams to rival those of the royal family, then a cooking show, then a podcast, and now it seems Meghan will be releasing wine first?
With the cooking show and podcast underway, it looks like Meghan’s first release for her American Riviera Orchard brand will be rosé wine, a product that many celebrities have dabbled in. And when she does get into that business, insiders say she’ll be stepping on the toes of some, including one of her friends and neighbors, Cameron Diaz.

Sources familiar with the matter told Life and Style magazine: “She knows the wine business is lucrative,” the source close to Meghan’s latest project said. “It looks like a complete money scam.”
“Meghan is stepping on some people’s toes,” they said, noting that Diaz is in the same business with her brand Avaline. “It’s pretty brazen of her to step on their turf. Meghan doesn’t seem to mind competing with a friend.”
Other stars who have also made this professional choice include Jon Bon Jovi, Sarah Jessica Parker, Brad Pitt, Snoop Dogg and many others.
“She and Harry don’t make enough money to continue living a lavish lifestyle. Their future depends on her success. Meghan really feels like it’s sink or swim time,” the source added.
News of Meghan’s rosé was first revealed in June 2024, when sources told the DailyMail that she would be releasing wine and “It is anticipated that other products in the first tranche of releases will include drinkware and serveware, barware essentials and other hospitality and entertaining-related products. We can expect some classic, yet expensive, style items.”
(While Meghan’s old blog The Tig (The bottle’s name comes from Tiganello, an Italian red wine she loves. But she makes rosé because it was apparently her drink of choice on her first date with Prince Harry.)

Not much is known about their friendship, other than the fact that they were photographed on a double date together in spring 2023, according to Hello , and that they even used Diaz’s private jet at one point, according to Marie Claire . On top of that, they’re neighbors in Montecito!
