FLORISSANT, Mo. – The Florissant Police Department is hunting for a group of thieves who brazenly broke into multiple businesses overnight.
Investigators say it all happened within a half-hour span between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. Monday.
Now the windows and doors are closed, but it was a different story this morning.
The whole thing started with a break-in at Brennan’s Bar and Grill in the 1700 block of Thunderbird Avenue near Lindbergh. After Brennan’s, the thieves went to Subway in the 2500 block of North Lindbergh Boulevard.
Shortly afterward, they hit Qdoba and Edible Arrangements at the Cross Keys Shopping Center in the 14000 block of New Halls Ferry. The thieves also targeted another Subway and a Papa John’s franchise in the 12700 block of New Halls Ferry.
The robbery has Florissant residents and business owners worried.
“Right now, people don’t want to work. Everybody wants to take from everybody else, you know? But we can’t even find a half-time job,” said Kenny X, Renee’s Restaurant and Bar.
Qdoba managers said nothing was taken from the business.
The owners of Edible Arrangements said the thieves stole cash and merchandise. They said the entire incident was caught on the store’s surveillance camera and the footage was turned over to investigators.
The owners of JC’s Jewelry and Repair, located in the same shopping center, said they were hit a few years ago.
“I got robbed at gunpoint—my store too—two years ago. And the police found out who did it and the next day they arrested them both and now they’re both in jail,” JC Severs said.
The looting and looting continued throughout the early hours of the morning.
“Overall, Florissant is thriving. But there are a lot of bad people here and they hang out in this area, it seems, after hours,” Severs said. “So, this isn’t the first time that the mall has been robbed after dark and it won’t be the last.”
Florissant police are appealing for anyone with information to contact authorities.
