OCBC Indonesia chose Cloudera to become the country’s digital-first bank and provide customers with a better banking experience.
Through this partnership, OCBC Indonesia hopes to leverage the potential of Cloudera Hybrid Platform’s generative AI solutions and data management, analytics, and AI capabilities.
OCBC Indonesia’s growing in-house data science team needed a hybrid data, analytics, and AI strategy that would seamlessly integrate with the bank’s data lake and enable data scientists and business users to seamlessly work across a range of integrated applications.
It aims to enable banks to provide transformer-based AI models, real-time intelligent personalized recommendations to their customers.
OCBC Indonesia CTO Koman Arta Yasa said the company sees the adoption of technology as adding value to customer experience as a strategic objective.
“Embracing modern data technologies and launching generative AI projects is one of the milestones for the bank to stay ahead and be at the forefront of the industry,” he said.
“The bank firmly believes that technology and customer experience go hand in hand in delivering solutions that serve consumer needs.”
Sherlie Karnidta, country manager of Cloudera Indonesia, said companies are keen to leverage vast amounts of data for generative AI to build custom applications and productivity tools for customers.
She said the partnership with OCBC Indonesia will enable the bank to build an extensible platform that allows it to easily and flexibly build applications and leverage tools and frameworks to drive business transformation.
The bank plans to bring AI/ML to more systems and users as part of its future strategy.
