EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – A community health assessment was recently completed to identify major health issues in Eau Claire, Chippewa and Dunn counties.
The reports are available on the Eau Claire, Chippewa and Dunn County public health websites, according to a news release from the Eau Claire City-County Health Department.
The report provides useful state and national data and identifies community-driven priorities to improve health outcomes across the Chippewa Valley. Some health issues have been identified for each county, but each county has its own list of health issues.
These assessments are conducted every three years by the health department, United Way chapters, and local health systems. These organizations use the results to identify their top health priorities. A report is then developed for each county to look more deeply at each health issue. The organizations and each county’s health coalition work together to address the top priorities.
Community members are encouraged to get actively involved by reading the report, joining their local health coalition and volunteering.
See below for the full news release, which includes links to the report and the individual Community Health Alliances.
The partnership includes HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield Clinic Health System, Mayo Clinic Health System, Dunn County United Way, Greater Chippewa Valley United Way, Chippewa County Public Health, Dunn County Health Department and Eau Claire City-County Health Department.
