Social media influencer Andrew Tate’s meme coin “Daddy” can now be used to book hotels, flights and car rentals on travel site Travala, he announced on Tuesday, after Tate and his brother Tristan received permission from a Romanian court to travel around Europe.
Tate shared the news on X, saying, “You can now purchase rental cars, flights and hotels directly with $Daddy on Travala in preparation for my $Daddy World Tour.” In a recent video, Tate, 37, expressed his plans to tour the world after being released from house arrest.
Travala, a booking service on Binance’s BNB Smart Chain, allows users to transact commission-free. The platform supports bookings for over 2.2 million hotels worldwide using cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Daddy joins the list of cryptocurrencies accepted by Travala. The travel agency hinted at the partnership on X, saying, “Something big and exciting is about to happen for $Daddy. Stay tuned.” The controversial influencer later confirmed the deal.
Following the announcement, Daddy’s price fell 5% to $0.1601, with 24-hour trading volume of $13.26 million, according to CoinGecko.
Unlike traditional celebrity endorsements, Tate has actively minted and backed his own Daddy token, sparking a new trend of celebrity-led meme coins. In May, celebrities such as Nigerian musician Davido, American media personality Caitlyn Jenner, and rapper Iggy Azalea launched meme coins on Solana and promoted them on X.
