Rossen Report: Check this date on your passport before traveling abroad
Are you planning on traveling internationally? Check the expiration date of your passport. Some countries will not allow you to enter if your passport expires within six months, even if you have a valid passport. For example, China, Singapore, and Thailand are countries that have a six-month expiration date. Others, such as France, Germany, and Portugal, have a three-month expiration date. If you want to be sure, the U.S. Department of State website has a feature that allows you to search for your destination and check passport requirements. You can check it out here. If you need to renew or replace your passport, you can find instructions on the U.S. Department of State website. Current processing time for passport renewal is about six to eight weeks. Expedited renewals are two to three weeks and cost an additional $60. Have a question for Jeff Rossen?
