LUNENBURG — Travel through the diverse musical landscapes of the American continent with Roger Tincknell’s “Across the Americas,” a folk music journey that will captivate audiences of all ages.
The concert will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, July 17th at the Lunenburg Public Library, 1023 Massachusetts Avenue.
From the gentle melodies of Canada to the rhythmic beats of South America, the program promises a rich experience that celebrates the cultural fabric of the continent.
Tincknell has been performing for audiences of all ages around the world for over 45 years.
His powerful, expressive vocal style, captivating yodeling and exceptional instrumental skills bring warmth and versatility to his performances.
With a background as a classroom teacher and music specialist, Tincknell has pioneered programs in multicultural education, environmental education, special education and curriculum development.
He is a recording artist who has released numerous albums for children and adults and is a two-time Parents’ Choice Award winner.
“I am fortunate to be able to share my music with others through performance, and I love how music easily brings people of all ages together, especially through group singing,” Tincknell said. “I hope that hearing songs and instruments from different cultural traditions inspires people to learn more about other cultures and appreciate the diversity in our community.”
Tincknell’s “Across the Americas” program features a variety of string, wind and percussion instruments, each adding their own unique sound to the exploration of traditional folk music.
“Audiences will be immersed in songs sung in a variety of languages, including Spanish, Portuguese and French, reflecting the multicultural nature of the Americas,” said Lunenburg Public Library Associate Director Lydia Gravel. “We invite you to join us on ‘Across America,’ a musical journey not to be missed.”
