KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (Bernama) – Ralph Lauren Corporation (Ralph Lauren) has issued a statement on recent media reports regarding the dispute between PT Mangala Putra Perkasa and other parties in Indonesia.
In a statement, Ralph Lauren clarified that PT Mangara Putra Perkasa, doing business as “Polo Ralph Lauren Indonesia”, is not affiliated or associated with Ralph Lauren in any way and that Ralph Lauren is not involved in these disputes.
We do not currently operate any direct stores in Indonesia, and have not granted any permission or entered into any agreements with any partners or distributors to operate “Polo Ralph Lauren” or other “Ralph Lauren” branded stores in Indonesia.
Ralph Lauren said it recognizes that these trademarks and names have caused confusion and that to meet domestic customer demand, it sells its products only through select third-party retailers.
The company is aware that several third parties, including PT Manggala Putra Perkasa, have registered trademarks in Indonesia that are similar to Ralph Lauren’s trademarks.
