For those who are not so aware older brotherthe long-running show brings a group of strangers into an isolated house and records their every move 24 hours a day with over 90 high-definition cameras and 100 microphones. Each week, houseguests vote each other out to be eliminated, with the last remaining houseguest winning the grand prize of $750,000. Naturally, fights, romance and craziness ensue.
Each season has a theme, and this one is “Big Brother Artificial Intelligence,” or “BB AI.”
“This new group of houseguests will experience an unforgettable summer with some amazing surprises as ‘BB AI’ takes over the Big Brother House,” CBS said in a statement. The network released a video tour of this year’s home, which features a math-themed lounge.
“This is a very chic, contemporary home,” Chen Moonves said during this season’s preview, “but when you look closely, you’re like, ‘Hmm, was this bedroom built by an AI?’ It feels very futuristic.”
Chenbot’s AI holograms were developed by Southern California-based Proto Hologram, which creates interactive holographic experiences for the entertainment, retail, healthcare, education and hospitality sectors. The company’s technology could, for example, enable doctors to remotely speak to and examine hospitalized patients, or enable conversational concierges to appear in hotel lobbies to handle routine inquiries and automate guest services.
Create a hologram like the one shown in Season 26 older brother Using a 4K camera and a light source, the subject must be filmed for about three minutes, moving naturally as they converse, while the company’s proprietary software learns the tone, rhythm and movements of the subject’s voice.
The result is a digital doppelganger that you can interact with through text and conversation.
“It looks like you, sounds like you, moves like you and is incredibly realistic,” David Nussbaum, founder and CEO of Proto Hologram, said in an interview.
Through a set of AI tools, the holographic human can connect with a live human, or a virtual human can be transmitted live to interact with in real time.
“They see the audience and the people projected in front of them as if they were actually standing there,” Nussbaum said.
older brother Season 26 will premiere over two nights, giving viewers the chance to get to know the 16 houseguests who will be heavily analyzed on social media over the course of the show’s run. Contestants range in age from 21 to 52 and include a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, a former undercover agent, a physical therapist, a real estate agent, a nonprofit owner and a crochet business owner.
This year, for the first time in the show’s history, houseguests will be able to vote for a 17th guest to join in the mayhem under their watch — and it turns out they’ll be hanging out with a hologram.
