Former President Donald Trump touched on some familiar themes in a speech to Christians at Turning Point Action’s “Believers Summit” in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Friday night’s rally of religious conservatives was an opportunity for Trump to appeal to a key Republican base, as the Republican candidate pledged to protect religious freedom and touted his record of support for the Israeli government.
Trump also called Election Day “the most important election ever” and urged Christians to vote, adding that if he was elected, any concerns he had about Christianity would be “solved” and he would no longer need to get involved in politics.
“You don’t have to vote anymore. It will be solved in four years. It’s OK. My beautiful Christians, you don’t have to vote anymore,” he said.
Trump also promised to create a federal task force to combat anti-Christian bigotry and said he would stop funding schools that “inflict critical race theory, transgender insanity, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, and political content into the lives of children.”
Friday night was Trump’s second campaign speech since Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed Vice President Harris as the Democratic nominee.
Trump spent a lot of time attacking Harris during the summit.
“If Kamala Harris becomes president, she will be the most radical liberal president in American history,” Trump said.
