TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — For the second year in a row, the Florida Highway Patrol has won the American Association of State Police’s contest for the best looking patrol car in the nation.
The Florida Highway Patrol partnered with Space Florida, United Launch Alliance and the National Reconnaissance Office to capture the photo.
“This year we were able to take the competition to new heights and showcase Florida’s Space Coast,” said Dave Kerner, executive director of the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
The photo was taken during the final launch of United Launch Alliance’s Delta IV Heavy from the Space Launch Complex at Cape Canaveral Space Station on April 18.
“We are thrilled that the state of Florida has won for the second year in a row and appreciate the Florida Highway Patrol’s cooperation and collaboration. This well-deserved win celebrates our state’s leadership in both public safety and space technology,” said Rob Long, president and CEO of Space Florida.
The tournament began on July 15th and saw a record 49 states participate.
For two weeks, states called on people to vote in what became the most closely watched election in history.
