Albacete, Spain – Airbus Helicopters has opened a new logistics hub in Albacete, Spain, equipped and operated by main logistics partner Daher.
Airbus Helicopters has unveiled a new 50,000 square metre warehouse next to its production facility in Albacete, aiming to optimise its operations in the Castilla-La Mancha region.
The new hub was designed by Daher, Airbus Helicopters’ logistics services provider, and features a highly automated and robotic storage system – a first for the aviation industry – utilising advanced technology from French specialist Exotec.

New technologies reduce storage space requirements, increase efficiency and responsiveness, and minimize the need for worker movement on-site. Designs focus on optimizing quality control, reducing human error, maximizing safety, and improving the work environment for workers.
Daher will also provide transport between its bases using biofuel trucks, which reduce CO2 emissions by 90% compared to diesel.
The facility is expected to employ more than 300 people, 85 percent of whom will be operators recruited and trained by Daher in partnership with the Albacete Employers Federation (FEDA).
“We are proud to bring our expertise and innovative capabilities to Airbus Helicopters, leveraging technology that positions Daher firmly on the path to Industry 4.0 and fully achieving the objectives of this project,” said Aymeric Daher, CEO Logistics at Daher.
