The past few weeks have been packed with LEGO news and announcements that have created a lot of excitement, and today we have the first look at a new set for the nomad soul among you. Courtesy of German retailer Alternate, we have the first leaked images of the bizarre new set. 41838 Family trip moments The set is due to be released in October this year, and judging by its unique packaging, it appears to be part of a new LEGO sub-theme.
The new design emphasizes the word “family” and also focuses on the idea of ”building together” in the box art. 41838 Family trip moments The set seems to be geared towards family time, specifically families traveling together to experience the vastness of the world. It’s currently scheduled for release on October 1, 2024, but pricing in the US has yet to be announced. We do know, however, that it will retail for 122.90 euros in Germany.
Stackable up to 1,231 pieces, this building set comes with a flat, compact map of the Earth where flat-Earth believers might rally to promote their disproven claims. Either way, it’s pretty funny and weird that LEGO symbolism is so close to conspiracy theories here. Besides the buildable world map (which can also be hung on the wall like a miniature version of the 31203 World Map set), it also comes with 20 place tiles to mark destinations you’ve visited together as a family, and 10 photo holders to display your best and most iconic memories.
The plane also comes with a smaller model plane called the World Wonderliner, which Jay’s Brick Blog points out is definitely a reference to contestants Chris and Robert’s winning final creation from LEGO Masters USA Season 4. It was announced at the beginning of the season that the winning creation would be turned into an official LEGO set, and from the looks of it, this could be the very set in question – except that Chris and Robert’s original creation was much larger and more impressive.
We will update you with more information and photos as they become available.
