Jakarta (Antara) –
The Ministry of Law and Human Rights stressed that the Golden Visa scheme is not intended to “sell” the country to foreigners, but rather to give potential investors the opportunity to take a closer look at Indonesia.

he, “Indonesia is not for sale” campaign against Golden Visa.
According to Karim, the Golden Visa offers investors an opportunity to discover the various possibilities that Indonesia has to offer.
This is expected to stimulate interest in contributing to the development of the national economy, including through the creation of employment opportunities and investment.
“The benefit (from the Golden Visa) is that Indonesia has to compete internationally for investment and good quality income,” he said.
He stressed that the golden visa was part of the government’s efforts to address the issue of foreigners potentially harming local small and medium-sized businesses. He pointed to the case of foreigners reportedly starting motorbike rental services in Bali.
In light of these cases, the government has issued regulations setting minimum investment amounts for foreigners wanting to start a business in Indonesia.
“Finally, (the minimum investment) came to Rp 10 billion,” he said.
