BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) – A new state-of-the-art truck stop will be built on Interstate 70 at Route 149 at the Belmont-Morristown exit.
Love’s Travel Stop and Country Store is home to two dining options: Godfather’s Pizza and Hardee’s.
There will be storage for gasoline and diesel fuel as well as tires.
The building will be 17,000 square feet, and the entire facility will occupy dozens of acres on a former golf course across from Pilot Plaza.
“There are amenities planned like a dog park, there will also be campgrounds for travelers who are traveling in motorhomes. So this is going to be a pretty large facility. It’s kind of a unique facility as a truck stop. This is not just for the larger trucks, but it’s going to be a great addition and a great investment for Belmont County.”
Larry Merry – Executive Director, Belmont County Port Authority
“This new truck stop will give tourists an opportunity to get off the interstate, fill up on gas and check out other sites in the area, including Barkcamp State Campground just off the road and the Underground Railroad Museum in the other direction.”
Jackie Pugh – Executive Director, Belmont County Tourism Council
Port Authority Director Larry Merry said he has heard the project is progressing well and could be up and running as soon as the new year.
He said Love’s is a family-owned business based in Oklahoma with more than 630 stores in 42 states.
