AMD is set to launch its Ryzen AI 300 (Strix Point) CPUs on July 28, and reviewers will likely be running their final benchmark tests on laptops equipped with these chips. One test shared by Hardware Detective HXL showed results for a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 installed in an Asus ProArt P16. The tested laptop has 32GB of RAM and is running Windows 11 Home on the standard power plan.
In the Geekbench 6 test, it returned a single-core score of 2,879 and a multi-core score of 14,888, putting the single-core score higher than the previous generation AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D and coming in close to the Intel Core i7-13700KF. However, the multi-core score remains nearly 2,000 points lower than the former and 3,000 points lower than the latter. Still, this is the best result the chip has recorded in Geekbench so far.
Here’s how the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 compares to comparable chips: We’ll also include a Geekbench leak of Intel’s upcoming Lunar Lake chips in the comparison: Neither Strix Point nor Lunar Lake have launched yet, and these are leaked benchmarks, so take the results with a pinch of salt.
Processor | Number of cores (number of threads) | Base Clock (GHz) | Boost Clock (GHz) | Single Core Score | Multi-Core Score |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX370 | 12 (24) | 2 | 5.1 | 2,879 | 14,888 |
AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D | 16 (32) | 2.3 | 5.4 | 2,819 | 16,439 |
Intel Core Ultra 7 268V | 8 (8) | 2.2 | 4.8 | 2,713 | 10,036 |
Intel Core Ultra 9 185H | 6 (12) + 8 (8) | 2.3 + 1.8 | 5.1 + 3.8 | 2,266 | 12,151 |
While the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 outperforms all other chips in terms of single-core scores, it still lags behind the previous-generation Ryzen 9 7945HX3D in terms of multi-core performance due to the older chip’s four extra cores and eight extra threads. Nevertheless, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 stands out with its built-in NPU that allows it to reach up to 50 TOPS.
But even if they meet the minimum requirements to get Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC branding, they won’t have those features at launch, although AMD has confirmed that Copilot+ features will be available via free Windows Update later this year.
These numbers look promising for AMD’s latest generation laptop processor, but they mean nothing without real-world results, so it’s wise to wait for theoretical and practical benchmarks from reviewers. rear Check to see if the laptop is in store, so you can be sure that the device being tested is a random selection from the retail stack, and you’re not looking at results from a hand-picked device that won the silicon lottery.
