The Better Business Bureau also says it has seen a rise in fake airfare websites promising cheap flights. A typical sign a website is a scam is one that “doesn’t have a valid customer service number or physical address,” according to the bureau.

Walmart is embarking on a major project to replace paper price tags on its store shelves with digital shelf tags that employees can update using a mobile app, allowing price changes that would normally take two days to be completed in just minutes, Walmart says. Walmart plans to roll out the digital tags to about half of its 10,000 stores by 2026.
App Spending Breaks Record
Consumers spent $35 billion on mobile apps in the first quarter, the highest amount ever, according to app tracking firm Sensor Tower. Entertainment apps, which include social networks and streaming services, were the top-grossing category. Overall, TikTok was the highest-grossing app, earning $1.2 billion in the first quarter. This marks TikTok’s fourth consecutive year as the top-grossing app. Monopoly Go was the highest-grossing mobile game.
Amex acquires restaurant reservation service
American Express agreed to buy Tok from Squarespace for $400 million, adding a service that lets customers dine on fine dining and make other hard-to-book reservations. Tok is known for catering at high-end restaurants, including New York City favorites Par Se and Jean-Georges. Restaurants are a major spending category for AmEx customers, with sales exceeding $100 billion last year. — Bloomberg News
