We’ve already told you about the social media phenomenon known as raw-dogging in travel circles.
But what are the latest travel trends?
Adam Duckworth, president and founder of Travelamtion, recently spoke on Access Daily about the weird new travel trends that are emerging.
How about a sports holiday?
This is especially true in the run-up to the Paris Summer Olympics, which are less than a month away. Tourists are therefore choosing to go on holiday for sports-related reasons, but are not limited to on-the-field activities. They are also visiting the local environment in which they are playing.
Europe is particularly attractive at the moment, but unique annual events like the Super Bowl and Wrestlemania in the US are also very popular. The Super Bowl, for example, will be held in New Orleans next year and you could perhaps combine this with a Mardi Gras holiday.
Sure, you could save a lot of money and stay home. Yes, staycations are still very much in.
Another trend is the “buddymoon.” This is when couples get married and ask their family and friends to accompany them on their honeymoon. Getting a bundled rate, a discounted rate, or a rate for renting multiple rooms is essential in this case. Call it a couple’s trip with a special occasion attached to it.
One trend that has continued since the pandemic is the “bleisure” vacation.
Finally, there is the sleep vacation. It is exactly as the name suggests. No sightseeing here. It is for people who just want to rest and recharge and want to do it away from home. In fact, there are hotels geared towards this new trend that focus on sleep vacations, including therapy and monitoring and sleep studies.
