Flats – Former Georgia Tech football player Osahon Tongo He has been named to the prestigious 40 Under 40 Class of 2024, announced this week by the Georgia Tech Alumni Association, an annual recognition of Georgia Tech’s finest innovators, trendsetters and notable figures.
Tongo was a three-year member of the football team (2007-09) and graduated from Georgia Tech in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. As a defensive end for the Yellow Jackets, Tongo led the school to an ACC Championship in 2009 and three bowl game appearances. He also led the school to wins over Clemson University in three consecutive seasons, including a 30-27 Thursday night win at home on September 10, 2009, which remains Tongo’s favorite memory.
Tongo is an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker known as a writer, director and producer for his critically acclaimed work on NFL360 and Netflix’s They Cloned Tyrone, as well as Greenwood Avenue VR, a VR series exploring the history of Black Wall Street. Tongo also holds an MFA from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts.
Representing the Yellow Jackets Wendy BrownA former member of Georgia Tech’s Gold Rush Dance Team, Dr. Schneider currently serves as Director of Regulatory and Clinical Affairs for Cartilage Inc., a startup company he co-founded to commercialize artificial cartilage technology, and is an Associate Research Specialist at the University of California, Irvine. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech, where he was Captain of the Gold Rush Dance Team.
