Season 19 Episode 5 Ranking:
11. Jollux: This was a quick audition for viewers, but I’m impressed. I need to see more! Maybe with drum accompaniment?
10. Baby Boss Brody: This Tick Tock The phenomenon was quickly identified by my sister, so there must be a massive online fan base for this group, which made me rank them higher than I normally would for this type of group. Was this my favorite of the three young groups that appeared in this segment? I don’t know. It will be amazing as it gets older, but I think it could get swallowed up by other dance groups.
9. B-boy Nana: It was a very brief audition for the viewers, but this young dancer blew me away. I really hope we see him again on the live tours.
8. Sébastien and Sonia: After the incredible aerial acts of past seasons, the bar was set very high. I wish I could say I loved it, but we’ve seen these tricks before. The judges were blown away, leaving no doubt in my mind that we’ll see them again in the live rounds. Social media seemed particularly excited about the performance.
7. Oscar Stembridge: If Justin Bieber And David Cassidy If anyone had a baby, it would be Oscar Stembridge. His original song, which technically hit all the right notes given the state of the world lately, was pretty forgettable. More importantly, his voice is impeccable and the way the audience, especially the women, reacted to it speaks volumes. Maybe a Ed Sheeran song next time?
6. TT Brothers: After a series of failed auditions, this group looked to lift the spirits of the evening. Honestly, any talent could have done it, but this duo was memorable for all the right reasons. Howie seemed particularly amused by them, which was to be expected since this falls squarely into the realm of The Three Stooges It’s kind of a comedy and Howie loves a good laugh. Honestly, that’s when I was quickest to think, “How did that get on stage?” and “That was really good!” at the same time.

5. Young Min: Historically, the magic acts are my favorite on the show. At a party where the only other magician was a man giving the finger, Young-Min easily won the battle of the magicians. The tricks were super impressive and even I couldn’t figure out how he did it. Mesmerizing was the perfect word to describe this act, but what else can he do on an even grander scale?
4. Pranysqa Mishra: When she got on stage, no one expected this young singer to be as good as she was, because she rocked Tina Turner Classic. She may be the best solo singer of the season. With the perfect song, her voice is a weapon she can use to eliminate the competition. Everyone was blown away by her, but Heidi gave her the Golden Buzzer, sending her straight to the live rounds of the competition. Best use of the Golden Buzzer yet!
3. Erica Rhodes: There may be no better line this season than, “I’m looking for someone who looks like a psychopath but isn’t.” This stand-up comedian has a dry sense of humor that isn’t for everyone, but as John Mulaney And Married Bamford, She’s in my field. If I had the Golden Buzzer, let’s just say it would have rained confetti. Her material could also work very well as a sitcom!
2. Juniors Attraction: After a successful run on “BGT” in its 15th season, this group is coming to the States to accomplish what eluded them there: victory. This group is already an internet sensation as of this season, a fact that Simon clearly knew. The performance itself was awesome and I noticed kids and adults alike on social media singing its praises. I loved it, BUT there is one slight change I would make to the show as it goes on: keeping the surprise a secret until the last possible moment to really win over some of the naysayers, who are the same whiners who always seem to not want to see the kids compete, instead of raising the screen with everyone walking out before the song is over. I have never felt more confident saying this: see you in the live rounds, guys!
1. Menudo: In a blast from the past, this new iteration of the iconic group, which was created by none other than Mario Lopez In 2022, they entered the AGT stage, with a slight advantage because they know how the music industry works… even though none of their singles charted. Vocally, they sounded incredible on their second song, which won me over. May I suggest a modern version of “A Cara O Cruz” on the live tours? With the support of Simon and Menudo’s fan base, past and present, they could be unstoppable.
