THEY HOPE TO SET A NEW RECORD… BY SCREENING THREE MILLION TRAVELERS IN ONE DAY BEFORE THE END OF THE TRAVEL PERIOD.
TSA reports Friday was fourth busiest travel day ever for airports
According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), agents screened more than 2.93 million people nationwide on Friday, making it the fourth-busiest travel day in the agency’s history. The TSA said it reported several new records during the month of June. On June 23, the TSA said nearly three million people were screened, making it the busiest day in TSA history. Additionally, the agency reported that more than 2.92 million people were screened on June 14, making it the fifth-busiest day in history. Officials said they expect to screen more than 32 million people nationwide from the end of June through July 8, following a Fourth of July travel rush. News 9 spoke to several travelers at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport who said they are preparing for holiday crowds. “It’s very well managed, it’s pretty crowded. If you get there on time, it’s pretty smooth sailing. Once things start filling up, it’s a nightmare,” one traveler said. “The airport in Florida was so busy, but it’s really empty here,” another traveler said.
