LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Lansing Police Department has opened an investigation at a downtown Lansing business after someone shot through the store’s front window Tuesday night.
The store owners, Young Brothers and Daley, told 6 News the entire incident was caught on camera.
“Well, we woke up this morning and checked our cameras, and realized the window behind me had been shot out,” said Lori Williams, one of the owners.
Lori said she arrived at work Wednesday morning on Michigan Avenue and was greeted by broken glass.
“A guy just rode up on a bike and he just pointed it at our window and shot it out,” Lori said. “We’re six blocks east of the Capitol, not far from the police station. It was very disturbing because it looked like he was shooting in several different directions.”
The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday night. The store was closed and no one was inside at the time.
“They usually go back to the crime scene, and I’m sure he was there riding his bike,” Lori said. “Just one tip would help the police and us.”
The company has filed a report with the Lansing Police Department.
“Hopefully they can identify the person and get him off the streets,” said Brad Williams, one of the owners.
While they don’t know how much it will cost to replace the windows, the owners told 6 News they are concerned the shooting could deter customers from coming in.
“There’s a lot of foot traffic in this area at night,” Brad said.
