They were particularly impressed with Jebel Ali’s cutting-edge technology, including the world’s first advanced X-ray scanners for inspecting large and small vehicles and large equipment. These scanners have drastically reduced inspection times from approximately six hours manually to just five minutes, streamlining container flows and reinforcing Jebel Ali port’s position as the largest in the Middle East and one of the most important in the world.
At Dubai International Airport, the delegation praised Dubai Customs’ efforts towards streamlining passenger procedures and the digital services on offer such as the “Smart I-Declare” application, which allows customers and passengers to declare goods and cash flows from their countries before arriving at the screening point in their destination country, further simplifying and speeding up procedures.
The Indonesian delegation expressed its appreciation for Dubai Customs’ efforts in facilitating trade and expressed interest in strengthening cooperation between the UAE and Indonesia.
