TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo announced that Indonesia’s global competitiveness ranking will rise significantly from 34th in 2023 to 27th in 2024. This improvement will place Indonesia in the top three countries in Southeast Asia after Singapore and Thailand.
He explained that economic growth, efficient governance and a dynamism in the business sector are key drivers of this progress. [because of] “Infrastructure readiness is important,” he said at the inauguration ceremony of the Batang Integrated Industrial Park in Central Java on Friday (26/7).

3. Indonesia’s President Jokowi Introduces Golden Visa for Investors and Global Talent
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo today (25 July) officially launched the Indonesia Golden Visa, a new visa programme aimed at attracting foreign investment and skilled foreign workers to the country.
The president stressed that the visa is selective and only the best will be awarded. In a symbolic gesture, the president presented the golden visa to Shin Tae Yong, head coach of the Indonesian national football team, at a ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton Kuningan Hotel.
