Health Net helps members during state of emergency
SACRAMENTO, California, July 4, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — In response to the governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency Butte CountyHealth Net, one of the California Centene Corporation, which manages the most experienced health plans, is providing special assistance to members affected by the Thompson Fire. Health Net is committed to ensuring its members have uninterrupted access to essential prescription medications, critical Health Net information and health services.
Help with adaptation
Health Net members have access to the Managed Health Network (MHN) for coping support, including referrals to mental health counsellors, local services and telephone counselling. These services help members cope with grief, stress or trauma related to the Thompson Fire. MHN operates its crisis hotline 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1-800-675-6110 (TTY: 711).
Video medical appointments
If members are unable to reach their primary care physician during a declared state of emergency, Health Net provides free access to telehealth services. To schedule an appointment, members can refer to their Health Net ID card for more information on accessing telehealth services. Members can also find this information by registering and logging in to HealthNet.com.
Information for healthcare providers
Physicians and nurse practitioners can call Health Net at 1-800-641-7761 for assistance with:
- Guidelines for the renewal of emergency orders.
- Approval escalation to reduce approval times.
- Approval of out-of-network treatments when network resources are not available.
Other important information
Depending on the length of time members require additional assistance, Health Net may take additional steps to ensure its members have access to necessary health services.
