JAKARTA (ANTARA) – The Indonesian government has strongly condemned the recent attacks on civilian facilities, including a children’s hospital, in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, resulting in civilian casualties.
“These attacks violate international law. War has rules,” the foreign ministry said in a social media post on Thursday.
The ministry also called on all parties to engage in peace efforts to end the war in Ukraine for good.
On Monday, the day before the 2024 Washington Summit bringing together leaders of NATO’s 32 member states, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of attacking a children’s hospital in Kiev.

Meanwhile, Kyiv military governor Serhiy Popko reported that missile fragments had damaged several buildings and vehicles in the capital’s Solomyan, Kholosiiv, Darnitsya and Svyatoshin districts.
The children’s hospital in Shevchenko district was among the buildings hit in the attack, which killed at least seven hospitalized patients and injured 25, Popko said.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied Zelenskiy’s accusations, saying Russian forces had only struck military targets with high-precision weapons to avoid civilian casualties.
“We are not attacking civilians. The attacks are being carried out against vital infrastructure and military targets,” Peskov said on Tuesday.
