JAKARTA, July 26 (SocialNews.XYZ) Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Friday inaugurated the Batang Industrial Park on a 4,300-hectare site in Central Java province.
“This afternoon we will officially inaugurate operations at the Batang Integrated Industrial Park in Batang regency, Central Java,” President Widodo said on his official social media account.
President Joko declared that Indonesia’s economic performance and efficiency have made it a leading destination for investment from various countries and secured the country 27th place in the Global Competitiveness Index.
The Batang Industrial Park is one such destination, with several factories already established there with a total investment of Rp 14 trillion (about US$859 million), Xinhua reported.
One of the largest state-run industrial parks to date, the park currently employs 19,000 workers and is expected to create employment opportunities for up to 250,000 people.
