The Supreme Court on June 28 Chevron Precedent requiring federal courts to defer to reasoned agency decisions when federal law is unclear creates potential challenges in developing health policy legislation and regulations. 12:00 noon (Eastern Standard Time) upon Thursday, July 25A panel of experienced policy and legal experts will explore how Congress and federal health agencies might adapt to the Supreme Court’s decision and what it means for health policymaking.
The 45-minute discussion, moderated by KFF Executive Vice President of Health Policy Larry Levitt, will address questions such as: How will this decision change the way regulators draft new regulations? What types of health policy regulations are more likely to be challenged in court in the future? How will this decision change the legislative process and our ability to pass new laws?
