OCBC’s Indonesian business has partnered with Cloudera to realise its vision of becoming a digital bank in Indonesia, delivering ‘better’ banking experiences to its customers.
According to Cloudera, OCBC Indonesia is looking to leverage its generative AI (GenAI) solutions and the data management, analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities of Cloudera’s hybrid platform.
The rationale for this partnership stems from the need for a hybrid strategy for data, analytics and AI by the bank’s internal data science team.
The team needed a strategy that could integrate with the bank’s data lake and enable data scientists and business users to work seamlessly with various integrated applications.
With this integration, the bank will be able to deliver transformer-based AI models, as well as intelligent and personalized recommendations in real-time to customers.
“OCBC Indonesia believes that adopting technology will add value to customer experience as a strategic objective,” said the bank’s CTO Komang Yasa.
“Implementing modern data technology and launching GenAI projects is one of the important steps that will enable the bank to stay ahead and become an industry leader.”
Yasa also stressed that the bank believes that technology and customer experience are “inseparable” in providing solutions to consumer needs.
Going forward, Cloudera revealed that OCBC Indonesia plans to make AI and machine learning (ML) accessible to more of its systems and users.
The bank will rely on them to provide a “solid and flexible” foundation to integrate AI at scale across the organization and further drive customer innovation and regulatory reporting.
“We are excited to work with OCBC Indonesia to help them build an extensible platform that enables them to easily and flexibly build applications and leverage tools and frameworks to drive business transformation,” added Sherlie Karnidta, Country Manager, Cloudera Indonesia.
“Enterprises are eager to leverage their massive amounts of data for GenAI to build custom applications and productivity tools for their customers.”
