JAKARTA, Indonesia, July 19, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Located in the city center, Millennium Mall has selected Otis Indonesia, a part of Otis Worldwide Corporation (NYSE: OTIS), a leading global elevator and escalator manufacturing, installation and service company, for its elevator and escalator replacement and modernization project.
Otis Indonesia participated in the Millennium Mall rebranding ceremony held in early June. Otis will modernize 39 units within the mall, which includes the modernization of 25 escalators, eight elevators and six escalators.
Otis Indonesia will modernize 39 units, including replacing 25 escalators and eight elevators, and modernizing six escalators at Millennium Mall. It will also replace the existing mechanical belts in some elevators with Otis Gen2 to provide a smoother, quieter and more comfortable ride.® Patented polyurethane coated steel flat belt that significantly reduces vibration.
To deliver a smoother, quieter and more comfortable ride, the existing mechanical belts on several elevators will be replaced with Otis’ Gen2® patented polyurethane-coated steel flat belts, which significantly reduce vibration.
To further increase energy efficiency, all elevators in the building will be equipped with Otis energy-efficient ReGen™ drives, which capture energy during braking and convert it into electricity, reducing annual energy consumption by up to 37% compared to the existing equipment. Additionally, several escalators in high-traffic areas will undergo in-truss modernization, maintaining the existing escalator framework and updating it with new equipment, minimizing disruptions and reducing downtime for passengers.
