ABL, part of the ABL Group, has won a contract with the Indonesian arm of Malaysian energy giant Petronas to provide platform inspection services to the latter’s assets in Indonesian waters.
Under the one-year contract, with a one-year option, ABL’s Indonesian team in Jakarta will provide a variety of services including rig assurance, equipment-focused inspections, drilling readiness peer reviews, client representation and technical risk assessments as needed.
“Our platform inspection experts have extensive industry experience and in-depth knowledge of all platform types. We have a well-developed setup, designed to make the platform inspection process as efficient, consistent and transparent as possible, whilst reducing the risks associated with the impact of platform operations on local marine environments,” note Deddy SetiyatnoCountry Manager of ABL Indonesia.
The Malaysian player is not idle in Indonesia, where it hopes to exploit a hydrocarbon potential that it considers immense. In May, the company signed a new production sharing contract (PSC) off the coast of West Papua and extended an existing contract in the Java Sea.
In parallel, ABL has opened an office in Romania to support the offshore and marine energy markets in the Black Sea. This has enabled the Norwegian company to source personnel for on-site operations from the Romanian office after being selected by OMV Petrom to provide Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) services for Deep Neptunea natural gas project described as the largest in Romania’s Black Sea region.
