Subang, Indonesia – Media OutReach Newswire – July 15, 2024 – VinFast Auto has officially started construction of its new electric vehicle assembly plant in Subang, West Java, Indonesia. This strategic move into one of Southeast Asia’s most promising electric vehicle markets will create numerous job opportunities for local workers, underscoring VinFast’s commitment to expanding its presence in the region and supporting Indonesia’s burgeoning electric vehicle industry.
Located in the emerging industrial hub of Subang, the new VinFast assembly plant represents an initial investment of approximately $200 million. The facility will have a capacity to produce 50,000 vehicles per year and will feature several main production areas, including a body shop, general assembly plant, paint shop and test centre.
The factory, which is scheduled to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2025, will produce right-hand drive versions of VinFast’s e-SUV models, including the VF 3, VF 5, VF 6 and VF 7 for the Indonesian market.
The project is expected to create thousands of local jobs, increase the proportion of skilled workers, and make a significant contribution to the economic and social development of the local community, while also having a significant impact on promoting green transportation in Indonesia.
