First major poll since assassination attempt finds Trump losing to younger Democratic candidates in battleground states
Trump holds three-point leads in Michigan, Nevada and Wisconsin, five points in Georgia, six points in Pennsylvania, nine points in North Carolina and 10 points in Arizona.
The numbers bode poorly for Biden, who is already facing doubts about his ability to campaign and win in November’s election, with members of his own party urging him to step aside and field another, younger candidate.
And Emerson’s polling backs that idea up.

Presidents Obama and Biden will tell allies they need to seriously consider the feasibility of the plan, reports say
The Washington Post Former President Barack Obama has reportedly told allies in recent days that President Joe Biden’s path to victory has narrowed significantly and he needs to seriously consider the viability of running for office.
The paper quoted several people who had been briefed on his thinking.
The former president has spoken to Biden only once since the June 27 debate and has otherwise made it clear that any decisions about the future of the campaign are his to make — and has rejected the idea that he could influence the president’s decision-making.
Still, Obama has fielded calls from anxious Democrats, including former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and has offered his own views on the challenges to Biden’s reelection bid, people with knowledge of the calls said. post I will report.
on wednesday, Vanity Fair “What do the Obamas think about Joe Biden? ‘If President Obama goes all in, he’ll go all in,'” the article said.
“The silence is deafening,” said Rep. Mike Quigley, who knows the former president and has called on Biden to drop out of the race. “If President Obama was in full swing, he would be in full swing.” The Obama-Biden relationship is “very guarded,” Quigley noted. “They keep their private lives and private conversations private. I think most people who speculate on this are just speculating.” Donors have expressed concern, Quigley said, and Democratic congressional leaders are reluctant to publicly call for Biden to drop out out of respect. Additionally, Quigley said, “people have this wild idea that, ‘If the next president is a Democrat, would you trust me?'” Obama is likely “very concerned,” Quigley said. The congressional Democrat believes some of Obama’s supporters are “trying to encourage change,” “but I won’t name names.”
