At the Turning Point Action Believers Summit, young voters dressed in “Trump 2024” and “MAGA” uniforms wandered the Palm Beach County Convention Center, about three miles from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Outside the speaking area were several vendors selling a variety of items, including carved wooden signs urging people to support America, “Make Coffee Great Again” coffee and Turning Point Action merchandise.
At the conference, young voters were confident that Vice President Kamala Harris’ entry into the race will not shake support for Trump. Gabe Poirot, who will be speaking at the summit, said he believes Trump’s support is strong and continues to grow, especially with Biden’s withdrawal and Harris taking over the presidential race.
“Despite the chaos, there is also strength,” said Poirot, 23, from Fort Worth, Texas. “People will say a lot of things about President Trump. Some will accuse him of a lot of things, but at the end of the day, no one can deny the facts of a man who got shot in the ear, went down, got up and showed the whole world he’s a warrior.”
Carter Masteller, an 18-year-old from Pennsylvania, said he thinks Biden’s withdrawal and Harris’ takeover of the presidential race shows “the Democratic Party is starting to fall apart” and that he hopes more people will support Trump. “I think people have their own beliefs and stuff and they’re just going to follow them,” Masteller said.
