Vice President Kamala Harris held her first campaign rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a must-win state where the Republican National Convention was recently held, and delivered a powerful and poignant speech to a crowd of enthusiastic supporters.
She paid tribute to President Joe Biden, criticized former President Donald Trump and Project 2025, and outlined her priorities as president if she wins in November.
Previously, Harris had received support from Hollywood star George Clooney. The New York Times Editorials calling on Biden to step down played a major role in forcing the president to assume his number two role.
Harris has already secured the support of more than 64 percent of Democratic delegates and will become the party’s presidential nominee in place of Biden, who endorsed him on Sunday, shortly after withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race due to questions about his age and health.
So far, no viable candidate has emerged to run against her, but the party raised a record $81 million within 24 hours of the president’s announcement.
President Biden is scheduled to address the nation from the Oval Office on Wednesday evening to outline how he plans to finish out his term.

Whitmer says she “didn’t send any documents to anyone” about the vice presidential selection process
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer responded to reports that Kamala Harris’ campaign had requested documents to vet her as a potential vice presidential candidate by saying, “I have no plans to do anything other than this job for the next two and a half years.
