President Joe Biden will hold his first post-debate press conference as part of the 2024 NATO summit in Washington tonight, seeking to prove to world leaders and voters that he’s ready to lead the country for the next four years. The press conference, which will air at 6:30pm EDT, will be Biden’s first since November 2023 and will be a test of how well he performs in an unscripted environment.

Following Biden’s disastrous debate defeat two weeks ago, some donors and Democratic leaders have questioned whether he should remain a candidate, and some have suggested he should drop out of the race altogether. But when Congress reconvened this week, most Democrats reiterated their support for Biden, even as they expressed serious concerns about his chances of beating Trump.
CNN reports that President Biden will attend the Washington Summit tonight marking the 75th anniversary of the NATO alliance and will hold his 37th press conference since taking office and his 15th solo press conference. He has held three press conferences so far in 2024, all of which were with other world leaders. The press conference can be viewed on a USA Today livestream starting at 6:30 p.m. EDT.
