Kitty, the younger sister of series protagonist Laura Jean, is the one who brought Laura Jean and her crush Peter Kavinsky together in the first place, and now it’s time for this spunky 16-year-old to write her own story. The time has come. . And before I get into the story and all the details below, I found these movies to be a breath of fresh air and positive mood that I always crave from Netflix content. Chances are, there’s no one close in age to the target audience for these stories.
I’m also a total softie and just put all my cards on the table.
XO, Kitty Release date, trailer etc.
In this spin-off series from Awesomeness Studios and ACE Entertainment on Netflix, May 18th, Anna Cathcart reprises her role as Kitty and is ready to make her mark on the world. “She’s stepping to the forefront. She’s picking up the baton from Lara Jean,” co-showrunner Sasha Rothschild said in a promotional interview with Netflix.
As for the story, Kitty leaves her home in Portland, Oregon to attend her mother’s school, Seoul Korean Independent School (also known as KISS). Coincidentally, Kitty’s long-distance boyfriend, Dae (Choi Min-young), also goes with her. to kiss. And what Kitty eventually learns is that relationships are much easier to manage when one’s own heart is not at risk, such as encouraging her sister to date a man.
“XO, Kitty “This is really Kitty’s story, and that’s part of the reason I wanted to put this story in a different place,” Han, who is also co-showrunner of the series, told Netflix. “If you look at the Covey mansion and the high school in Portland that we all know and love, you probably think, ‘Oh, what’s Lara Jean doing?'”
Each episode is 30 minutes long, making for a tight show that’s much easier to munch on without feeling like you have to slog through new releases. At least that’s how I feel about many of Netflix’s new TV releases these days. Who has time?
